Straight answers to what we are asked most often. Anything specific to your situation is better covered in a consultation.
Often, yes. If another party's negligence contributed to your injury or loss, a claim may be available to you. Whether it is depends on the facts. Time limits apply to accident claims in Malaysia, and they can be shorter where a government body or public authority is involved — so it is worth asking early rather than late.
The most useful are the police report, a medical report, treatment bills and receipts, photographs of the scene and the vehicles, insurance documents, and income records if you have lost earnings. You do not need all of them to begin.
It varies considerably. Straightforward matters that settle can conclude within months, while disputed claims take longer. Where treatment is ongoing, there is often good reason to wait: the full extent of an injury has to be understood before it can be properly assessed. We will give you a realistic view once we have seen your documents.
Yes. Passengers are usually in a straightforward position, because they are rarely responsible for the collision. This applies whether you were in a private car, an e-hailing vehicle, a bus, or riding pillion on a motorcycle.
You may still be able to claim. Malaysian law allows responsibility to be shared between the parties involved, and where that happens compensation is generally reduced in proportion to your share rather than refused outright. Tell us what happened, including the parts you are unsure about.
Medical expenses are one of the recognised heads of claim. They can cover treatment already received and, where relevant, care that is still needed. Keep every bill, receipt and referral letter — they are the evidence this part of a claim rests on.
Yes. Malaysian law allows dependants and the estate of the deceased to bring a claim following a fatal accident. We will explain who is able to claim and what the process involves before anything is filed, and these matters are handled with the sensitivity they call for.
Our team reviews the information you have provided and comes back to you. If something further is needed to assess the matter properly, we will tell you exactly what it is and why it matters. There is no cost and no obligation at that stage.
No. Send what you have. Missing documents can usually be obtained later, and in many cases we can advise you on how to request them.
Yes. What you send is treated confidentially and used only to assess your enquiry and to contact you about it. It is not sold or shared for marketing.
